Welcome to the Wharton Communication Program (WHCP).
Our goal is to prepare students to meet the communication challenges they will face as business and community leaders.
We offer the core’s only seminar-style class (WHCP653, with a maximum of 9 students per section), advanced speaking and writing electives, seminars and non-credit workshops on various business communication topics. Our programs help students become more skilled communicators and thus better presenters, public speakers and writers. Our approach includes a thorough foundation in communication theory reinforced through multiple practice opportunities, taping of speeches, and rigorous feedback.
The need for future business leaders to be effective communicators has never been greater: speeches, web casts, blogs, podcasts, media interviews, interactions with NGOs, contentious shareholder meetings, etc. all offer new opportunities - and risks. Our practical, skills-based approach helps students develop their personal style and strengthen their confidence as communicators.
